Frankly I don't know much about paintings. But as I know, absolutely no. I don't think he is as good as Qi Bai Shi. He is a great painter though. _________________ Lixin |

Zhang Daqian was one of great painters of the early 20-th century.
One of his great contributions was in the early 20-th century when
he went and spent a great deal of time copying the paintings of
Dunhuang caves, at a time most Chinese have forgotten about the silkroad. For this he has never received proper recognition.
His paintings has been widely circulated; he was the first generation of Chinese painters whose work became well known due to modern printing technology.
I intend to put up a portfolio of his paintings at this website.
