I find the English translation of Chinese poems from Tan-Dynasty and so on beyond my comprehension.

Take this one for example:

"You ask me why I dwell in the green mountain,
I smile and make no reply for my heart is free of care.
As the peach-blossom flows down stream into the unknown
I have a world apart from men".

The correpsonding Chinese text shows the popular "Musing in a quiet night" of Li Tai-Po

床前明月光
疑是地上霜
举头望明月
低头思故乡

Where did the translator get the word "peach-blossom"? Is it a error through linking a wrong Chinese text to the English translation?

Exactly whee did you find this??? You happen to see
a bad page. The fact is there are thousands of good
translations on the web.

Spend a few months to study the poetry at this web site,
before you complain.

Start with http://www.chinapage.com/libai014.html

You can also read the many postings at this [Poetry] forum about
this specific poem.

Actually not! How do you come to relate the translation posted by you to that poem???? (Do you read Chinese at all??)

The translation is of the following one:

山中问答
(唐)李白
问余何意栖碧山,
笑而不答心自闲。
桃花流水盲然去,
别有天地在人间。

And here's an English version by Xu Yuanzhong:

A Reply

I dwell in the green hills and someone asks me why,
My mind carefree, I smile and give him no reply.
Peach blossoms fallen on running water pass by,
This is an earthly paradise under the sky.
