For thousands of years, China suffers from severe floods and drought
every summer. Tens of thousands of people died. Economic loss
is incalculable.

Again, the flood/drought session is upon us. But the damage appears
to be much smaller than the historical normal.

With the flood control by the Three Gorge Dam, the entire Yangtze
River is well undr control so far. With luck we shall survive with
the death tolls numbering in the hundreds.
