Dear Dr Pei,
May I try again?
I am under contract to write a book for Bloomsbury publishers, 38 Soho Square, London W1D 3HB. It is scheduled for publication in 2006 and the working title is "The Dragon Assailed". Planned print run: 10,000 copies, selling @ L20.00 sterling. I would like to be able to consider three or four of the images on your "emperors" site for use, probably at half page size each. I am especially interested in Chin ShiHuangDi, Kublai Khan, Empress Cixi and possibly Ghengis Khan also. Colour would in each case be hugely preferable. Bloomsbury would seek world rights.
Could you very kindly let me know whether, and if so on what terms, you might let me use the images concerned? Also, in what form could Bloomsbury or I obtain copies? Best for us would be an image in 300dpi or better.

Sorry for the tardy response. This is my personal web site, without
a paid staff. It has not been possible for me to provide copyright
assistance to authors or publishers, as such undertakings require
an amazingly amount of time and effort which I do not have.

Believe me, I have tried to help many times. All with sad results.

Most of the graphic files, including the ones you mentioned, are
for use on the Internet. They do not have the high resolutions
necessary for publications. You can find out more about this
technical aspect from your editors.
