Naturopathic medicine: Chinese medicine known for treatment of arthritis
Dr. Philip Simpson
NATUROPATHIC MEDICINE
Western medicine categorizes arthritis in two basic categories: rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis.
Rheumatoid arthritis can be an acute or chronic condition characterized by inflammation, soreness and pain in the joints and connective tissues. The problem can be located at a specific joint or generalized throughout the body. It is an autoimmune disorder.
Osteoarthritis is characterized by progressive connective tissue degeneration in the synovial joints; for example, fluid-containing joints such as the knee and elbow, as well as the vertebral connective tissues and disks of the spinal column.
Chinese medicine defines all types of arthritis as "Bi Syndrome." "Bi" refers to any obstruction occurring in the body which inhibits the normal circulation of qi (energy) and blood that allow good joint and spinal movement and function without pain.

How do I get tested for Rhumatoid arthritis?
Arthritis runs in my Mother's side of the family. I just turned 30 years old & I've been noticing I have pretty severe aches & pains throughout my body from time to time. The pains & aches will not stay in one spot though. One month my ankle will be aching then the next it would be my hip area. My aunt (my Mother's sister) was diagnosed with Rhumatoid Arthritis about 4 years ago, so I know what it can do but how do I know if that might be what I am experiencing?
