SRI Lanka declared a national disaster today as officials said the first tsunami to hit the Indian Ocean island in 16 years may have killed as many as 500 people.

The word tsunami is derived from the Japanese word of 津波
The Chinese word is 海嘯 or 海啸.

After the Tsunami disaster that happen in Thailand, how does it change people attitude and behavior living? in Pattaya and Phuket. I heard that aft er the Tsunami disaster happen people in Pattaya and Phuket are not as friendly as use to be.

洪水 flooding

Flooding is a big disaster in this year. Both China and Pakistan face a big challenge. Even train in China are flooded away. Luckily nobody got hurts.
