Hybrid rice: new hope in anti-poverty fight

Hybrid rice technology was successfully developed in China 25 years ago.
Since then, the technology has been used in 50% of rice-growing areas in
China, which amount to some 30 million hectares (74 million acres) of land.
It has now been adopted by more than 20 countries worldwide
